Features

Built for the parts of payroll nobody explains.

Real withholding math

Federal (modern or legacy W-4), state and county tax, FICA, pre-tax benefits, and Traditional vs. Roth 401(k) handled correctly.

Bonus, commission & RSUs

Dated bonuses and vesting schedules get their own supplemental withholding, then roll into a yearly earnings outlook.

Paycheck-by-paycheck budget

Add expenses and savings goals and get a plan for all 26 paydays, including which ones are tight and which carry a windfall.

Private by default

No analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no trackers. Dollar amounts never hit our logs, and the calculator works fully without an account.

Knows your state

Optional location access pre-fills your work state. Decline it and pick from all 50 states and DC by hand.

Sign in with Apple

Optional, and email-free. We never store your address. It only exists to sync history, grants, and your budget across devices.

Incomatic ("the app," "we," "our") is a take-home pay calculator for iOS. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Location

Incomatic requests access to your device's location, with your permission, solely to detect your work state and pre-fill it in the calculator. Location data is used momentarily on your device to determine your state and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers beyond what's needed to complete that lookup. You can decline location access and select your state manually instead.

Financial and payroll information you enter

To calculate your take-home pay, the app sends the figures you provide (earnings, pay frequency, filing status, W-4 details, state/county, pre-tax benefit elections, and retirement contribution percentages) to our calculation backend so it can compute your paycheck breakdown and return it to the app.

  • If you are not signed in, the calculation is processed to produce your result and is not saved to any personal history. Our server logs record only non-identifying metadata about a request (such as the country, state, tax year, and pay frequency, and whether a bonus or hourly input was included) and deliberately do not record the salary or dollar amounts you enter, or the full contents of your request.
  • If you sign in (see "Account information"), the calculation you run (the inputs and the computed results) is saved to your private calculation history so you can revisit it later. You can delete any saved calculation from within the app at any time.

Account information

Signing in is optional and is used only to save and sync your calculation history; the calculator is fully usable without an account. Incomatic uses Sign in with Apple, so we never receive or handle your Apple password. When you sign in, our backend stores a record for your account containing your Apple user identifier, the display name you choose to share (Apple provides this only on your first sign-in), and account timestamps (when the account was created and last used). We do not store your email address. Sign in with Apple lets you keep it private (including via Apple's "Hide My Email" relay), and our backend does not retain it. Your saved calculations are stored privately against your Apple user identifier and are only accessible when you are signed in.

Budget goals and expenses

If you choose to build a budget, the app collects the savings goals and expenses you enter (name, amount, cadence, category, and any target date) along with the take-home figures from your calculation, so it can produce a paycheck-by-paycheck plan. This information is stored against your account like your calculation history, and you can edit or delete it in the app at any time. Generating a plan requires an AI service operated by Google; see "Budgeting and AI" below.

Budgeting and AI

Incomatic's budgeting feature uses Google's generative AI (Gemini) to draft your plan. To do that, the values you have entered (your take-home pay, your expenses, and your savings goals, including the amounts you typed in) are sent to Google's AI service through our backend. Your name, email, and Apple user identifier are not included.

  • This only happens if you explicitly allow it. Before anything is sent, the app shows a consent step describing this in plain language; if you choose "Not now," no budget data is sent to Google and the feature is not used.
  • The AI's plan is checked against a deterministic budgeting engine that runs on your device, which also serves as a fallback if the AI service is unavailable.
  • Google's handling of the data it receives is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy for its AI services. We do not permit this data to be used to train Google's models.
  • Every other part of Incomatic (the calculator, Insights, history, and RSU tracking) works without any AI service, and none of your data is sent to Google for those features.

Information We Do Not Collect

Incomatic does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. We do not collect your contact list or device advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

How Information Is Used

Financial figures you enter are used exclusively to generate the paycheck breakdown displayed in the app and, if you are signed in, to save that breakdown to your personal history. Budget goals and expenses are used exclusively to build and display your budget plan, including the AI generation step you consent to. Location is used exclusively to pre-fill your work state. Account information is used exclusively to authenticate you and associate your saved calculations with your account.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Your inputs are transmitted to our own calculation backend over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The one exception is the budgeting feature: with your explicit consent, your budget figures are sent to Google's AI service to generate your plan, as described in "Budgeting and AI" above. Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple; your use of it is also governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Data Security

All communication between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. In addition, the salary and dollar amounts you enter are never written to our server logs, and (when you are not signed in) your requests are not associated with any persistent user identifier. Saved calculations are stored privately and are only returned to your own authenticated account.

Children's Privacy

Incomatic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Choices

  • You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app will fall back to manual state selection.
  • You can use the calculator without signing in, in which case no calculations or account data are stored.
  • You can decline the budgeting consent step, or simply not use budgeting. The rest of the app is unaffected and nothing is sent to Google's AI. Deleting a goal or expense removes it from our backend.
  • If you have signed in, you can delete individual saved calculations at any time from the History screen, which removes them from our backend.
  • You can permanently delete your account at any time from the account screen (tap your profile, then Delete Account). This erases your account record and all of your saved calculations from our backend and cannot be undone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app's features change. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
